What this tool is for
Tier Point Planner is a free, browser-based calculator for British Airways Club members who want to understand what it might take to reach Silver or Gold before their membership year ends. Instead of relying on vague rules-of-thumb, you enter realistic BA Holiday or flight prices you can actually see for First, Club World and Club Europe, along with your current Tier Point balance and home airport.
How it works
The planner estimates how many Tier Points each trip pattern could earn by combining spend-based earning on BA Holidays with bonus Tier Points per sector in different cabins. It then shows worked examples for common setups such as long-haul BA Holidays from London, trips via London from Manchester or Edinburgh, and ex-Jersey itineraries that add extra Club Europe legs and avoid UK Air Passenger Duty on the long-haul departure.
Trip patterns and combinations
Once you’ve entered your prices, Tier Point Planner displays both single-pattern scenarios (for example, “First long-haul from Jersey” or “Club World via London”) and simple mix-and-match combinations. These combos look for low-cost ways of reaching Silver or Gold using up to a few trips in each cabin, always respecting the example prices you’ve given.
Important caveats
The results are intended as a planning guide, not a booking engine. They rely on configurable assumptions about Tier Point progression thresholds, bonus earning and APD, and real-world outcomes will always depend on exact routes, booking classes and BA’s rules at the time you book. Used alongside tools like BA’s Low Price Finder, Tier Point Planner helps you sanity-check ideas you see on social media, compare the value of different destinations, and decide whether one big holiday or several smaller trips looks like the better route to your next status level.
